In this detached house, I revitalized a north-facing garden that had been neglected as the couple’s children grew older. The small, shaded patio was replaced with multiple seating areas designed for year-round use, capturing both sun and shade.
The owners invested in an outdoor office, adjacent to which I created a vibrant border filled with sun-loving plants. I introduced a riot of colours—pinks, oranges, purples, and reds—using ornamental grasses and perennials, all set against a backdrop of a dark green yew hedge.
Near the house, I designed a planting bed with a bubbling water bowl, populated with shade-loving plants. I also installed a new BBQ area on a spacious patio, and carefully positioned a pergola to enjoy the evening sun and garden views. The transformation emphasised the beauty and diversity of the plantings, making the garden a colourful and inviting space.
